The Dacorum Volunteer Police Cadets. Has been set up to provide a positive and disciplined environment for young people from a cross section of the Dacorum community. The Photo shows the Cadets Parading in the City of London along side the Metropolitan Cadets at the Lord Mayors Show demonstrating the discipline learnt during their time in the Cadets.
With the assistance of Pro-action of Hertfordshire The team aims to guide all of its Cadets through ENVQ’s in Youth leadership and Community working. 30% of the cadets’ time is intended to be spent on helping and engaging within the community as part of the Police family and aims to work along side communities such as the elderly, disabled groups and local charities . Interacting with such groups will encourage a far more positive perception of young people and reduce anti-social behaviour. The know this helps Cadets grow in self confidence and gain life skills they can use when volunteering or when applying for jobs or universities. The cadets will engage in Police led activities, community based projects and also take part in fun outward bound activities which intends to provide an unfamiliar learning environment where the young people will strengthen their life skills.
The Dacorum Volunteer Police Cadets is independently run and has it’s own governing body along with policy documents formulated to support all activities.
